Disney villa locations
Discussion
So, off back yet again but this time doing the villa thing as we are taking other people not just us 2.
We will be doing Disney but only 1 couple will have a car as others can't/won't drive so need to be close enough to Uber without huge expence.
So what are the best areas to be looking?
Cheers

Not been since before Covid, but I think about the nearest area would be the Four Corners area: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Four+Corners,+FL...
There's a "back way" into WDW off 192 by using Sherberth Road, but it's all getting pretty mental generally with increasing traffic.
For the last few times we've been, our "go to" off-site resort has been Windsor Hills, but there's a particular type of villa there that my wife really likes - we rented one just for the two of us one time we went. First time we took our wider family we hired a car for them but they harldly used it. Last time they took Ubers as needed and it worked fine.

Regal Oaks in Kissemmee used to be decent.
All the benefits of having your own villa with some of the benefits of staying at a hotel.
Its close enough to all the parks and the Old Town is a 5 minute walk away.
Ubers were reasonably priced also.

We've stayed in a few villas in that area and Emerald Island has been the nicest villa and the best kept resort (albeit a few years since we were in that actual one).I just flew back this week and always stay in a resort off Ponciana Bvld. But only because I own the property concerned.
Four corners as mentioned earlier is a good option for Disney as you aren’t competing with people travelling from International Drive.
If you only visit the parks Tue - Thu you will find traffic and park attendance lighter as you won’t be competing with the long weekenders visiting from the southern US states.
Your Uber idea isn’t such a bad shout when you consider that standard parking is $25 ($30 in universal/SeaWorld) So a $50-$60 round trip isn’t so bad as it seems when you consider that saving.

We stayed in Windsor hills last month, very close to the local Walmart which is handy to swing by after a day in the parks to grab anything. Traffic on the 192 was crazy though. Think it was generally a 7min drive in the morning but come mid afternoon through to night 7 days a week it could easily take 30-40min with traffic.

That's a good location if it's a couple of couples and one of them wants to wander off to Old Town. May be worth thinking about a resort with some facilities - Windsor Hills (as of pre-Covid) has a nice pool, basic gym and small shop but no on-site dining etc. I'd be cautious about banking on facilities though as they come and go.All the benefits of having your own villa with some of the benefits of staying at a hotel.

I think Regal Oaks is Townhouses, not villas?
We stayed here last time and would normally have discounted it as it's not a villa. I'm not sure I would go back to a villa after this experience.

A mate of mine went for a fortnight last October, it was circa £2k to hire a car, he said he spent £700 on Ubers instead.Four corners as mentioned earlier is a good option for Disney as you aren’t competing with people travelling from International Drive.

I'm just back after 2 weeks in Orlando, a nearly new 6 seat GMC SUV cost £520 for 2 weeks through Alamo - prices have come down and the sweet spot is now 4-8 weeks in advance it seems rather than as far as possible in advance which is what it used to be.Trustmeimadoctor said:
