Lake District - Activities
Discussion
In the process of planning a lads trip to the Lake District at the back end of October. It’s a stag do but an older crowd of 12-14 guys in their mid 30s so a wild cry from your usual lager louts out on the piss.
Looking for recommendations for activities, outdoor things like clay pigeon shooting, paintballing etc and somewhere reasonably priced to stay. Any suggestions folks?

Via Ferrata at Honister
Hire some electric MTB's at Whinlatter (or analogues if you are reaosonably fit) and do the trails.

If you don't mind me saying so, it seems odd to go the the Lake District and be on the lookout for everyday activities like clays and paintballing.Looking for recommendations for activities, outdoor things like clay pigeon shooting, paintballing etc and somewhere reasonably priced to stay. It's all about the big outdoors. Walking, climbing, kayaking, canyoning. Walk up a big hill, hire an instructor and try a bit of rock climbing. Otherwise you may as well go to Nottingham like everybody else.
Kankku do some off roading days in Windermere, or they can give you a map and go out yourselves. Never been on one but always see their vehicles parked up which look pretty rugged. Heard they are good days tho.

Lake District not the cheapest for accommodation but its slightly out of season, loads of places in Windermere Bowness Ambleside areas, but would recommend Keswick a bit further North for a group, lots of nice pubs plus Premier Inn just been built at semi decent prices for the area.

I've done Kankku and it was brilliant fun, however a large chunk of that was due to the instructor who was great laugh. I can't guarantee others would get the same instructor as it was years ago.http://kankku.co.uk/safari-4x4-experience.html

Walk up a Lake District mountain.
Be rude not to seeing as you are there.
If some aren't used to hill walking, have a go at Catbells. It's like a big hill walk in miniature. Pretty much anyone can manage it and seasoned walkers will enjoy it too. You get views, rugged landscape and elevation without having to walk ten miles and climb 3000ft.Be rude not to seeing as you are there.
