Now I know in life you get what you pay for. In the words of my well travelled neighbour "they are probably as bad as Ryanair".

Ok I thought no problem. Just make sure you do everything by the book, don't take the piss with the luggage weight etc and just treat it like a bus with wings.

Except the problem I am now having is since booking the flights to Turkey (we are going in July) they have changed the time and the date of the flights 7 times. They send me an email saying you can get wizz credits or whatever or change the flights if you want but obviously the flights have now doubled in price since I paid.

In one Change they made they pushed forward the dates for the outward and return flights so I've had to amend all the accommodation and the parking quite a few times.

At what point will they actually decide on the date and time they want to fly and stick to their word? Latest change was today, and there was one last week. I had to amend the parking at the airport which cost me £50 to do (I'll have to suck it up obviously) but having never flown with them before can anyone give me some words of comfort about when I'll know they are happy to proceed on the basis of a shared understanding of when I need to be there and when the plane will be ready to go?

They are much worse than Ryanair. Whizz policy is to split up groups unless you pay for seats, which are around £25 each, whereas Ryanair policy is to always try and sit groups together or you can buy a seat for about £4 to guarantee it.

Wizz air have a policy of seating kids under 14 with at least one of their parents. So my 5 year old son can sit with me and my 1 year old daughter will be on my wife's lap- hopefully at the other end of the aircraft.

People have been complaining to Wizz with no satisfaction. There were hundreds of unsatisfied CCJ's for Wizz Air which they are blaming on everyone apart from themselves:

People have been sending in bailiffs after a CCJ with mixed results:

How did you even get as far as paying for a flight?

I was looking for flights to Verona the other week and Wizz Air were one of the 'cheapest' at £95 each.

Care to hazard a guess what £95 each became for 2 people by the time I got to checkout?

Nope....

£485!!!!!!

yikes

I went with Ryanair for £360.

We fly Wizzair quite a lot as they have many options to the Baltics. In my experience they're not better or worse than Ryanair, the seats are just as uncomfortable and the food equally over priced. But its only a 2.5 hour flight.

We did use them to fly back from Cyprus last year and 5 hours was 2 hours more than my body could manage though. If I didn't have to drive home from the airport I would have drank away the pain.

We use them for regular trips to Poland. They do seem to change the flight times quite often, but for us it's usually only been an hour or two each time.

They haven't been overly strict with luggage when we've flown either - although when we came back a few weeks ago it was quite funny that they put the luggage size contraption out, and somebody in the "premium" queue was desperately trying to get their bags to fit - while most of us in the poverty queue didn't bother, and had bags that clearly wouldn't...........

Seats are certainly a tad cramped but for a flight of a couple of hours I've found them fine. Plus, the g/f always pays for the flights - so I consider them excellent value for money smile

I generally use them as they go to obscure places in Eastern Europe and the Balkans that other airlines do not fly to from the UK. They have the smallest free carry on luggage out of all the budget airlines but apart from that they are no worse than the others.

I did have one interesting flight back from Albania, kids running riot shining laser pens at the staff etc but nobody cared and everyone seemed to know each other including the staff. hostesses catching up with family members holding babies etc. That was a long 3 hours hehe

Same here - fly a few times a year with Wizz air and they are no better or worse than Ryanair for me. Flights are usually delayed, and I pay for the exit seats to make the torture.. a bit easier to bear.

After flying with this rip-off of an airline...I wouldnt recommend them in the slightest....they make Ryanair look honest and professional.

They also tend to advertise flights, and if they don't have enough passengers just cancel them a week or so in advance, which is really annoying if you're off to somewhere a bit obscure and poorly serviced by other airlines.

Ryanair are cheap and st, but at least they're reliable. A bit like the McDonalds of flying. Wizzair are more like the dodgy kebab shop you fall into at 2am. It might be fine, does the job for a decent price, or you might be bent over the toilet 12 hours later.

Can honestly say we’ve never had a problem and have been using them to get to Poland for years.
Used to be 8-10 times a year until covid, and we’ll get back to that amount soon.
Pay for yearly discount club. Never pay for priority. Never pay for a seat.

You get what you pay for, and if I can get a return flight to Gdańsk (we usually only have hand luggage) for as little - sometimes - as thirty or forty quid (I think the cheapest we’ve had is £20 return) then I’d happily sit on the floor.

Might bump into you one day then - that's where we fly to, several times a year!

Awful airline

They started getting their refunds sorted about 2 months back.

They have a habit of cancelling flights whilst you're queuing to checkin and then simply give you no information.

made me laugh when this 5ft nothing skinny assed guy infront of me at check-in had to pay an extra £50 for a bag that was 2 kg overweight when beside him, on the next desk, was a 300 lb belfer of a woman!

Ryanair policy is to split people up as an angle to get them to pay the extra $$ not to be. Sadly seems to have been adopted more widely now but oleary was the trailblazer.

Wizzair seemed fine when we flew - just another budget airline - but that was a few years ago now so a shame if they're this bad. Ryanair for all their faults do have a good record (relative to the industry)for not cancelling flights don't they?

Last time we flew with them (a month or two back) we didn't pay for seats together, and were not split up.

They used to be OK but have certainly got worse over recent years.

The experience is further worsened by the need to travel through Luton which I rank as one of the worst airports we have.

I travelled to Tirana in January. Everybody on the flight nearly missed the flight because we were all sat at the gate shown on the board whilst the plane was at a different gate. It was only when the board changed to 'gate closing' that someone went to enquire. When we all arrived at the correct gate, the crew were busy packing everything up about to set off and were it not for the robust protestation from a few Albanians, they would have left us there. They said it was the airport's responsibility to advise us but I would have thought that an entire plane load of passengers not arriving at the gate might have triggered enquiry by the airline.
