French and Italian toll roads…. Car electronic payment

Road trip planned, using autoroutes and autostradas, what is a suitable/preferable way of using these without stopping and paying cash/card? Stick of Wi-Fi /. RFID type device if you see what I mean.

Is there one solution for both countries, and how does it work please? Do you pre pay or is it debited at time of use?

Want faff free but not significantly more expensive.
