I'm visiting the Manchester Central Convention Complex next weekend, arriving early Friday morning and leaving late Saturday afternoon. Staying at a hotel at Deansgate Locks.

Is there a safe car park to leave my car for the duration?
Also, I've heard there are some good street food vendors in the city centre? If so where are they located, are they all together somewhere?

Thanks.

I've used the Q car park nearest Deansgate and it feels reasonably secure for a public car park but I've never left anything there overnight.

First Street Q park again. Secure. We park there for work and do leave vehicles overnight for many nights when we are not in our office but away abroad. Just watch if you reverse park, there are a few bays where pillars at the back aren't in line with those at the front alignment of the bay. And opening your boot / roof smacks.

Get on Trip Advisor for food. You have everything there or just go wander. You've plenty options and if you want a real pub go to the Britons Protection for a few local scoops.

Depends what you're after... Siam smiles is quite close to there (deansgate mews in the great northern) which is excellent thai, very authentic. it's not quite what you might call posh though. Albert's schloss is good for food. Tiffin room is decent for indian food but it's a bit of a soulless sort of building. Kala is excellent, like really top choice i think. El gato negro also excellent. The Ivy is not far away either. Wood is good.

Went to an all you can eat buffet called Cosmo last weekend and the quality was ok for the price (£25).

Ended up parking in a residential street in Stretford and took the tram into central Manchester.
