North Macedonia currency

Hi we are going to North Macedonia for a week (Lake Ohrid) just wondering about currency. We would possibly like to visit Albania for a day and i have a chase account which i believe doesn't charge a lot of commission. I'm just wondering if i'll be ok paying for most stuff with a debit card?

Yep. Did Lake Ohrid a few years back and card is fine for pretty much everything. Take some cash/withdraw some though just to have on hand.

I did a cycle trip in Albania last year. Included cycling around some of Lake Ochrid into N Macedonia. We stayed on the Albanian side Pogradec? Albania commonly takes euro in cash too. I can't help with Macedonia as I didnt spend money there.

Lake Ohrid - wonderful place. Albania too. Hidden gems.

Debit cards will work fine in both places. However, if you want to withdraw cash from an ATM, not all the local bank's ones will work with a UK card. OTP Bank and Raiffeisen Bank will be fine, others not so much.
