Hi

I want to take my 21 and 18 year old daughters to NY for a mini break to celebrate degree/A levels.

I have the first two C19 jabs but no boosters. Is this sufficient to enter USA? I have tried searching and got conflicting advice. Anybody got a reliable link please?
Are they even checking this anymore?

I assume the only other requirements are a Visa each?

Many thanks.
Andy

Thank you - yes I did read this and will accept it as correct - it seems boosters are not deemed necessary.

Rumour or if you like rumor has it that the requirement will get dropped at its next expiry which is 11th May. But to answer the question you need to have had your 2 jabs and an ESTA.

Yep, you need an ESTA instead of a Visa (unless you've been arrested, or to Cuba/North Korea/etc recently).

I would assume this is the case, Biden signed off on ending the national emergency early in April and by default this will expire the public health emergency on 11th May. Or it's the other way round, either way they're finally getting rid of it.

I'm in the same situation as you (just the two initial jabs) and was able to fly to Orlando
last October and Miami this February with no issues whatsoever (other than the shockingly
expensive flight costs!)

Yes - at present, you have to provide proof of vaccination when you check
in for a US-bound flight, either in person at Heathrow/Manchester/etc. or by
uploading proof during online check in.

...but as another poster mentioned, it is likely to be abolished in a few weeks.

Was checked flying into Nashville in October. Flying into Miami in mid-March it wasn't checked.

Ha yeah we thought that about the various other silly rules and even just reopening and they all dragged on so I wouldn’t be supremely confident on this rule disappearing. This one however doesn’t fit with official US govt advice on the longevity of vaccines so it’s total unjustified nonsense which should be enough to see it dropped in a sane world.

We flew Manchester to JFK via Keflavik in January and never got asked about vaccination.

Wouldn't want to chance it, but Virgin to Boston a couple of weeks back i was just asked at check in and they weren't fuss at seeing the certificate.

For BA/American when i flew to NY in Feb had gone through Verifly app which meant you uploaded your QR code into the app.

In terms of when I was in the US/Canada so far this year nothing going on in terms of restrictions on venues etc so pretty much like here.

Looks like a rare outbreak of sanity might have occurred chez Whitehouse:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statement...

the Whitehouse said:
Today, we are announcing that the Administration will end the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for Federal employees, Federal contractors, and international air travelers at the end of the day on May 11, the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ends.
