Off to Hong Kong after a 3 year break next week.

Used to live in HK and been going here for business and partying for decades now.
Always loved the place. Going to be interesting to see how Covid and the Chinese Fist of Fury have decimated it.

A buddy said many of the bars and restaurants are boarded up around LKF and Wan Chai but always good to see it first hand.

Shame though, as it's always been an amazing place.

Anyhow, I'll post up what I find.

My parents live out there and I haven't been back for years. Held back from going due to all the Covid stuff. Now looking to go back later this year. Will be interested in hearing your travel experience.

I used to head to HK first before travelling around China visiting factories. I love(d) the place, but I'm actually a bit nervous about heading back for the very reasons you mention.

Will be following along for your thoughts. When do you go?

Definitely quieter. I've been twice recently. LKF much quieter but still some life. Similar in Wan Chai. Hardly any live music on Sun/Mon but pretty good other nights.

Fewer ex pats about for sure. If you'd never seen it at its best you'd probably still have a great time.

I'll be interested to hear as well, lost my PR due to Covid, been almost 4 years since being back.

Didn't see Wanchai at its best, but early 2000's were still 'interesting'
