Bit of a rant more than anything - a short rant.

I cannot believe that Philippines still require you to take a lateral flow test to enter the country. Are they one of the final few remaining countries with this policy? USA we all know about...there must only be 3-4 countries still doing this?

Does anyone know?

I was there in Feb and didn't need a test, just to go through a certification process and make sure I had a hard copy of the verification barcode, on phone wasn't sufficient.

I was only there for a day though, maybe more stringent if you're there for longer, but I don't think so.

Edit, just seen you're in Dubai, that may make a difference

Thanks Sleepezy. Is this the E-Travel pass that you are referring to?

Does it require you to be Vaccinated against CV19? There is a section called 'accomplish health declaration form' - which presumably needs vaccine proof. I don't have that.

Yes, I travel so much I keep fully vaccinated so hadn't considered not being so, apologies.

Yeah. We are heading 'home' so to speak. Haven't been since 2018, a long time for us. I am from England, wife is from PI.

Without stirring a honest nest are you vaccinated but can't get a cert or not vaccinated? (no need to answer, but its relevant to the below)

If the former I'd do everything I could to get the declaration sorted rather than lft. Getting into the Philippines (Manila) was painful even though we arrived after midnight (look on immigration officers face was priceless when she asked how long I was staying and I said I'd be leaving later the same day). Covid check and immigration must have taken 2+ hours and we knew what we were doing and had everything sorted.

You may have a faster route with your wife being a national but it didn't look that way.

Hornets nest.

Not vaccinated for me, my wife is vaccinated though.

Guess i'll have to try and get an LFT sorted here in sleepy Oxfordshire somehow. We also arrive into Manila at around 23.00 ish. Mid-July. Not sure how it will be. Then into a local hotel, then next day the journey south.

Do you know if there is a hotel attached to the airport? I have checked online but the answer seems inconclusive, it seems we might have to jump into a taxi for 5 mins to get to nearest hotel.

Don't know on the hotel at the airport but your destination hotel should do a shuttle bus, or could organise a taxi which is a good plan given the chaos outside.

Make sure you have a contact number to call once you get past immigration.
