Paris 2024 - Accommodation

Was a Gamesmaker in the Athletes Village at London 2012 & it was one of the highlights of my life.
Will shortly apply to do likewise for next year. I have accommodation a medium schlep from Lyon, but this is a soccer only venue. I would like to be closer to the main action in Paris.
Does anyone have any ideas how to obtain budget accommodation (I'll only want a bed because the plan is to work or soak up the atmosphere for the minimum 10 day stint)?
Problem is that I don't want to commit to anything until I know that I have been successful in my application (in 2012 I was called up less than 2 weeks before the opening ceremony)

(The alternative is to help with the surfing in Tahiti & kip on a beach...)
