This year may possibly be the last family holiday we have. Daughter is 22, and sons are 19 and 17.

Ideally somewhere where our children can be treated like adults but still be with us and enjoy watersports, jet skis and all the good stuff.

For me the idea of Dubai where we can do the water sports stuff but also do some desert driving etc.

Where have you been that might be of interest?

croatia, around pula. loads of watersports in crystal clear water and precisely the vibe you are looking for. there are a lot of camping and family resorts around medulin so plenty people in the same boat so to speak.

only issue really is there are no beaches, rocks and shail only.

Dubai & Maldives combined I’d suggest.

Budget dependent!

I would second this with the caveat around the waterspouts and jetskis and avoiding them like the plague due to the very well documented jetski damage scams that are rife at all the main/major beach resorts.

Dubai is a good shout and a solid mix of entertainment but depending if youre looking to go soon (i.e. between now and the 21st April - whilst still within Ramadan) some entertainment options will be limited.

We are doing the same thing this year with my kids, daughters 22 & 20, son 16.

Think my budget may be a little less than yours, we're off to Kos in June to a nice AI hotel on the beach with Adult only pools, restaurant and cordoned off beach.
It's for 16+ so son just gets in.

Wife and daughters are quite happy just to chill for the week so son and me will have a few trips out.

Not really true any more re: Ramadan, certainly around anything tourist oriented is business as usual.

Certainly was last year.

Lots of business had amended opening times, some closed off, some just with screened off areas for non-Muslims, no eating or drinking around the pool allowed (had to go to a designated area) etc.

It’s got incrementally better each year as legislation has been overhauled including the shift to the Mon-Fri work week. It’s all monetary, Ramadan licenses were trialed a few yrs back as hoteliers and retailers were complaining of the total lack of revenue. Started at jumeirah owned properties and is now ubiquitous in tourist areas. I had a pint at lunchtime in a public accessible area. It’s easily my favourite time of year as the traffic and crowds disappear.

Anyway I digress. Eid will probably involve a dry night still, but I guess Eid could be viewed as a holiday attraction. Hotel prices straddling that period will be daft tho.

Still think Croatia (or Thailand) miles better for the vibe and activities the OP is after.

Dubai is an excellent idea. We went a few weeks ago and it was great. One of my brothers went last year with his 3 lads (aged from 15-25) and had a whale of a time - jetskiing, skydiving, desert safaris.

Bit pricey though.

We were due to go to Thailand when Coronaroids hit but when it came time to rebook went to Tulum in Mexico.

Now all kids are school free, we were looking at late August early September (as daughter going back to Uni to complete Vet course).

Sounds about right. MrsF loves chilling on a beach and reading but also doing stuff. However looking for somewhere we havent got to share a pool, hotel restaurant etc with 'that kind of all- inclusive family' :eel: biglaugh

Never been to Dubai so do not know the better areas, hotels etc so happy to get some steer from the collective. Budget is around the £20k mark
