A day in Tenerife
Discussion
This week I'm going to Tenerife for the weekend as part of a group. I'm going a day earlier than everyone else so the first day will be spent on my own.
Can anyone recommend any must do activities? Is it worth hiring a car to go anywhere in particular? I'll be staying in the South of the island but don't mind travelling around

i wouldn’t bother with car hire - the buses are great and regular. As said above, as the south side of the island is basically flavours of seaside town, go up mount teide. it’s quite a long day out on a bus tour so perhaps cable car is a good shout. I went to tenerife a dozen times before i went up Tiede and was shocked (in a good way) by how great the trip was, and how different life up the mountain is versus england-on-sea down below. Could happily spend my life in vilaflor!
We did this walk last time we were there - its about 3 hours and you need to prebook as they only allow 20 people on the trail every half hour.

It's not particularly strenuous but if you want walking poles you can hire them for a couple of Euro at the start.
It's near Costa Adeje.
