Burgundy - Stop off there and back

I have a couple of weeks in France booked in July. 5 nights in Burgundy in the middle so looking to stop off for a few nights on the way from/to the tunnel.
On the way down, somewhere around Troyes and on the way back somewhere around Lens is what I have in mind. It'll be the two of us and 4 year old.
