If anyone’s been during this time, as a non Muslim would I find many restrictions that would affect my enjoyment?
I’m taking my son to play in a golf tournament and it just happens to coincide with Ramadan.

Thanks

Don’t eat or drink in public (which will not include your hotel or, I suspect (worth checking) the golf course).

Some bars will open a bit later but otherwise nothing to worry about.

Thanks.
Golf course and hotel are the same place.
No eating and drinking in public also include restaurants, or do they operate as normal?

Check with your hotel. It may be only one restaurant is open during the day, perhaps limited hours also. It'll be screened off so no one outside can see in. Altogether a less than ideal experience however it's respectful.

I was thinking more of restaurants away from the hotel.

It's unlikely - during the day. Evenings everything tends to be as normal.

My experience is with Dubai and Oman during Ramadan, but Abu Dhabi will probably be similar. Most restaurants at hotels and malls have black curtains up so you can eat and drink between sunrise and sunset. If you wanted to have a drink while at the pool, you were asked to go into the gym to do so. Not sure how this works on a golf course though.
