UK passport renewal - how long does it take?

Dies anyone have any recent real-world experience of how long it currently takes for the Passport Office to send back the new one, once you've made the application?

There's a post below somewhere, but this is the details of my kids recent renewals.

Application email received 6/2/23, but had to get someone to confirm my sons identity

Identity details confirmed email received 7/2/23

Return old passport email received 8/2/23

Documents received email 10/2/23

Passport approved email received 17/2/23

Passport printed email received 18/2/23

Passport delivered 22/3/23

My daughters passport was applied for a day later, but pretty much the same timescales as the above.

6 days from sending to receiving a few weeks back.
Kids took about 9 days.

Went to Max Spielman in Harrogate to get a photo taken for new passport on a Sunday last month. They did the application in store. I had the passport in my hand the following Thursday

Mine and my son's renewals have taken less than 2 weeks.

Did mine at the beginning of this month using a certified photo/code number from a local shop. It took twelve days to land on my doorstep. Began the online process on Saturday and it arrived two Thursdays later.

Just renewed mine - 11 days from form submission to new passport received.

6 days for my other half, process done through local photography shop.

Sent 3 the same time. 2 took a couple of weeks, the other took 10 weeks (no reason for the longer one, just seemingly lost in the system).

Depends if your a frequent traveller on not, but maybe look at getting an xl passport. After all, 2 day trips to France and that's one page stamped up.
Oh it took around a week to get my sons back. Super quick now.

Passport delivered today 03/03/23

8 working days including the day of application. Not too shabby!

Sent on 24 Feb, application confirmed received 27 Feb, still not back (4 weeks).

Applied last Friday 17th March
Passport arrived today. Very pleased with the whole process.

Passports are very quick if you use the on line application with digital photos. Last 3 in our family 10 to 12 day max includung a replacement for a lost passport wich required 3rd party Id confirmation.

Does it update you each step of the way when you sign up for text alerts?

I submitted mine on line last Fri 17th, got confirmation Tues that my old passport had been received but no changes in status since. I’m driving myself crazy logging in and checking!

Not panicking yet but holiday at end of May and expecting a slow down when the strikes kick in!

I sent two off this week - Adult renewal on Monday, Child renewal on Tuesday 21st.

Both old passports have beeen updated as "received" so now just need to wait to see when they go to the printers. I'll update here as the status changes.

Because my kids passports went through so smoothly I thought it might be prudent to get my own done as there's only 9 months remaining.

Old passport received on Monday by them, delivered via UPS, but no email received from Passport Office yet, mildly concerned as we go away in June, that'll learn me to think ahead.
