Mornin,

Later this year or next we are looking at a trip, and fancy going back to Mexico.

I am however not interested in going somewhere with cheesecake factories and Starbucks on every corner, would rather some authentic Mexican culture and food.

But I would also like a good hotel, nice beach and for it to be safe as a family resort.

Is there such a resort? Somewhere in the middle of the two extremes perhaps?

Thanks smile

I think you would need to look at the west coast?

Visited Acapulco a good few years ago. Was very dodgy then and by all accounts hasnt got any better.

  • Acapulco may not represent the whole of the West Coast

It sounds like Puerto Vallarta is what you're after.

Puerto Vallarta was fantastic 20 years ago but looking on Google maps it seems to have become what you don't want. It might be worth a look though, there are some brilliant trips into the jungle and the local food was very good.

We went 5 years ago and there was plenty of crap in the centre but the prom is lovely and there were plenty of good spots away from the centre and in outlying towns.
