I quite like Eurotunnel, and certainly do not like ferries. Mrs L and I have used the service plenty of times, and again decided to use the tunnel for this year's trip to France.

We have redeemed Tesco vouchers before also. This year, we had about £100 worth and booked just the outbound crossing for £2. Very good, we thought, and built up a few more for the inbound journey as we were not entirely sure which day we were coming back.

It turns out that you can use Tesco vouchers for a return journey from the UK, for an outbound journey from the UK but NOT for just an inbound journey. That's because - apparently - that constitutes a trip from abroad. Was this made clear? - apparently it's in the terms and conditions. You know, the 100 pages of gumf that we all read before entering into any sort of contract.

Yes, I could have bought a flexi-ticket. Which I might have done, if this condition had been made clearer.

You can't use Tesco vouchers for Flexiplus either as we looked into this last year.

Yep, I knew about it and that you have book two weeks min in advance to use Tesco vouchers. I don't think it's buried in the small print, it's fairly clear.

Always been that way
Trips must start from the UK

Book a return and change the date takes a phone call
