I will be arriving early afternoon and the next day I have a conference. Booked into a hotel in the city by the harbour, are there any must see things to do in the city I can fit in within a couple of hours?

It's tempting to get a rental and drive up to the Russian border and throw my own poo at the border guards, but maybe not the smartest!

A cultural experience or something foody would be great if anyone has anything quick and easy they have experience in recent years?

Thanks in advance!

Lime scooter - down to the waterfront. https://www.loylyhelsinki.fi/en/ if it's open.

Best not to mention Russia at all while in Finland. They have substantial business with the Russians, particularly around the oil industry. They also have a lot of "history" and a cautious suspicion/respect.

As regards Helsinki, I recall being in a club and an attractive young lady enquiring whether I had a pistol in my pocket or was just pleased to meet her. So keep your wits about you.

Might be a bit late in the day but we enjoyed a trip across to the Suomenlinna Fortress. The Stockmann shopping centre is huge and had an indoor food hall…somewhere to keep dry if it’s raining. The Old Market Hall is a nice place to grab some local food. Most of the time we just wandered around the harbour sights.
