Looking for a family holiday later this year.

Turkey keeps coming up as an option as cheaper for comparable breaks to other typical resorts.

Looking at the large all inc resorts in and around either Lara Beach / Antalya or the Dalaman area - but no objection to other areas.

2 kids 3 & 6 so huge water parks aren't a necessity but splash park or some smaller slides would be good / good pool scene.

Decent beach access would be nice.

Anyone experienced any of the following as they're coming in at a reasonable price... or suggestions for others to look at.

We're pitching this at the mid end of the big '5 star' resorts - budget is about £3k for a week probably in June or July outside of kids holidays

We're currently considering

Liberty Fabay

Trendy Lara

Limak Lara

Any good experiecnes to look at?

I can't help you with the resorts, however the first time we went (may half term) I liked it, we went back in august last year, and I hated it, we went to a different hotel etc, but was the only place really accepting russian money last year and I got incredibly bored of getting up at 8am for a sunbed to try and get a quiet spot away from drunk russians, and don't even get me started on the food waste - absolute animals.

Not sure if that will be the same this year, but prices are higher this year - we paid £3300 last year, this year same hotel at the same time is £4000 - not worth that imho.

Tenerife for us is working out far cheaper than Turkey, near the end of august 23 (have to do school holidays), so thats our destination this year.

We've stayed at the Susesi and Land of Legends. The latter is great for kids (it's basically a Theme Park) but it might be a bit out of your price range.

Never been to Turkey on an all inclusive and this is my main fear - not having somewhere to lounge around because im on holiday and dont want to get up at silly o clock, and drunk folk - have young kids and want it to be relaxed not rowdy.

Never been so not sure if this is the norm or isolated

Several years ago we went to the Montana Pines Resort near Hisaronu and Olu Deniz. We went twice with a group of friends. Flew there via Dalaman. See here:

https://montanapine.com/

We liked it. In the mountains, good facilities, near to HIsaronu and Olu Deniz (for the beach), had a taxi rank in the hotel grounds so no need to hire a car etc. Plenty of other restaurants if you tire of all inclusive food!

First time taking our girls on a plane was Lux to Antalya. We had a very good 5* AI, but unfortunately there were plenty of very greedy Russians staying there, too. Stacking plates with food and then leaving it, hogging the entire length of the bars making it difficult to get drinks, etc.
I think Turkey is still a holiday hotspot for Russians.

Them aside, it was a lovely holiday.

I could not recommend the Voyage Belek and the Barut Lara highly enough.

Been to two others, Concorde de Lux and one other, would not rush back to either.

However, my favourite will always be the Bull Hotel Costa Canaria on Gran Canaria - food, service, facilities and a free to use underground spa that is heaven during the high sun. Kids have to be over 16 from memory.

We've booked in at the Rixos Sungate for a week in June. Looks good from reviews and pictures (don't they all).

Was £2200 for two adults and a 2 year old.

Stayed at Limak Lara a few years ago, found it quite good, good pools, different selections of food on the buffet and straight on the beach and good entertainment for kids and adults.

More recently stayed at Aska Lara and again it was decent.

They all seem pretty much the same, big all inclusive resorts with multiple pools, buffet and restaurants and daily entertainment for kids and adults which you can stay in all day, just Google the latest reviews and take your pick.

I wonder has the recent terrible events in Turkey put people off there this year?

This echos our thoughts, I can't fault the hotels, the facilities etc are top notch, and the advantage turkey has is most the hotels are modern, unlike a lot in spain etc - my kids are not interested in a circle kids pool - thats boring - and I don't want them on holiday sitting watching tablets etc.

My wife would go back tomorow - but for me, its a no. only good thing from our last holiday is my oldest (9) has someone in turkey who she speaks to occasionally through whatsapp (on my wifes phone) - the most embaressing part is she speaks better english than my daughter! That to me is a sad state of affairs, and one I am addressing now with more books, and shes found her love for reading again. Slowly getting rid of the american words used, damn disney plus and youtube.
