Overnight in CPH advice

I am flying to Japan and my flight is in 2 parts from UK to CPH (Copenhagen) and then CPH to HND.
However, the CPH flight gets me in at 2300hrs and my onward flight to HND is not till 1100hrs the following day.
I have a few questions. I have never had this long of a layover before.
Will SAS keep my checked luggage and move onto the second flight?
Will I be able to go through the transfer doors into connections rather than out of the main exit?
If I have to go out the main exit I presume I will need to come back and re-check in?
Anyone else done this?
I was thinking of getting a hotel but it seems a waste of £200 because by the time I get out of the airport to the hotel its going to be 0000hrs and I need to be back at the airport at 0700 so in reality I will need to be up and getting on the move by 0630 ish so if I am lucky I might get 6 hours in bed.
