Any suggestions please.

Our thoughts were - Rome, Prague or Budapest - fly in on a Thursday and home on the Monday. Nice ish hotel and have a city break. Never been to either of these

Any other suggestions welcome

Rome most cultural.
Beer is best in Prague.
Hookers cheapest in Budapest.

All a matter of priorities, really.

Prague is great and quite compact to stroll around.

Two further suggestions would be Vienna and Bergen from me.

Wife and I had a great time in Gibraltar. 4 nights, lots of historic things to see and do. Great fun.

Rome is lovely and plenty to see and do although I'm in no hurry to go back. There are some lovely romantic trattorias to eat, drink and relax in.
Prague is fantastic. I've only been for work but plan on going back later in the year with the Mrs. Plenty of things to see and do and a great place to stroll around, day or night.
Budapest is one of my favourite cities. There's some great sights, places to eat and drink and has a lovely vibe about it. Unfortunately a large part of the enjoyment for us was the hotel which I believe is still there but no longer a Buddha Bar one.

You can't go wrong with your choices although personal preference for me would be Budapest or Prague.

Budapest is one of the best cities in Europe IMO when you see the main sights, spend time in both Buda and Pest and check out its individual quirks such as the large ruin bar scene. I'm not aware of anywhere else having anything similar to that scale.

Thanks guys - single most helpful advice is hookers are cheaper in Budapest - Mrs loved that!!!

Anyway, we are between Prague and Budapest now

(Worked and spent a month in Lisbon and I agree a stunning city)

Found a couple of nice boutique hotels in Prague close to the river. Now to compare with Budapest

We are around £700 for 4 nights in a nice hotel in a good location.

If you go to Budapest, then the Soviet statue park / museum is interesting and a little different.

Not Rome.

Budapest or Prague. Vienna is nice.

Rome was OK. I found it really difficult to get around, their transport network isn't very good in my view and I rate that quite highly as I love to hop on a subway or something and go to a different area.

Budapest is amazing. My partner and I went about 3-4 years ago - just before Covid, and it was brilliant. Cheap beer, lovely river and buildings, the Ruin bars were really cool too.

Prague - went 15+ years ago and remember it being really nice. I want to go again

Last time my girlfriend suggested a city break, by the time you had priced up the flights, accommodation, food etc. it wasn't much more expensive for us to book a 7 night Caribbean cruise with 3 night in Miami.

Budget - was thinking between 500 - 800 for accommodation - narrowed down to Prague now.

So trying to work out where to stay, so what are is the best to stay in that is close to most things. Then a nice boutique hotel (trying something different that is not a chain)

Also where to go and see, what's the Musts to do???
