Looking for some suggestions please. I'm organising a wee break the first week in April. Due to various demands/requests from different participants, I'm looking for :-

Pueblo Blanco type village setting
By the sea (rocky coves rather than vast beaches)
Warmish but not hot
Not touristy
Within driving distance (an hour or two) of a cultural city.
Easy flights from UK

I'm thinking possibly Sicily, Andalusia, Dalmatian coast, or the Spanish/French border area around Collioure. Grateful for any suggestions.

Cinque terre. Shouldn’t be busy that time of year

I was reading through this and thought about Cerbere on the Spanish/French border but then you mentioned Collioure and I thought too late. We loved it there and planning to go back again this year

Cinque Terre is lovely, there are trains to each of the villages too (Admittedly you have to hike down to the coast from the stations though smile )

Wife and I stayed in Rapallo on the Cinque Terre a few years ago for several days. Flew into Genoa and got the train, easy.

Stayed at Hotel Astoria, pretty good, across the road from the beach, close to all the restaurants etc. Get the train as said earlier to explore the CT, or maybe better, get about by boat.

Portofino is worth a visit by boat too. Best to go for lunch. Can get very busy.

Thanks all, I've gone with what I know and booked a flight to Malaga, hire car from the airport, and an Airbnb in Alcala de Los Gazules 2 hours away. Not as close to the sea as I'd have liked, but lots of access to hills and rivers, coast is about half an hour, Cadiz is not much more, and Gibraltar is less than an hour. So plenty to fill a short break (8days)
