Working up in Manchester and taking missus and toddler so looking for something to do Sunday.

Manchester has a lot to offer but missus will be using that up while i'm working during the day.

Ideas welcome!

The Monkey Forest at Trentham Gardens is good for anyone who likes monkeys.

A500 D Road. Everyone should travel the D-Road once in their life. Just to remind them how privileged they are not to live in Stokes Seven Towns.

Or go off at J18 (I think) for Holmes Chapel, cut across to Redesmere (put Redesmere Lane in your Sat Nav) can feed the ducks (get frozen peas from the Co-op in Holmes Chapel as you come off the motorway). Then from Redesemere you are up the A34 to Mancs.

This avoids the roadworks on the M56 which have had some night / weekend closures, last week it was a diversion up via the M62 instead of the M56 for Manchester so if you were after South or East Mancs an extra hr on yer journey.

We settled on taking him to Legoland on the Trafford centre, by the time he'd skirted around there and we'd managed to get Half the lego out of his mitts it was time to get into town for hotel check in.

We stayed in a Cove apartment and was mightily impressed at the room, it had a bedroom to chuck little lego man, really good value at 125 quid a night (Company funded mind).

Last time I was in Manchester was about 20 years ago and god has it grown, the building work is scary.

Outside of Trafford park in to town has just an endless amount of development, its quite mad how much residential build is going on.
