Anyone been through recently?

I use to go with work - land in Jakarta, say I was here to meet friends, passport stamped and through I went. Heading back end of the month and it seems everyone needs a visa on arrival and to pay 500,000 IDR £26

There is no option I can see for sorting before I land and then added in the fun with covid injections - they say to download an app which I have but cannot upload my vaccine documents.

I think maybe I am thinking too much and it will be easy when I land - but just wanted someone who has passed through recently to say yep!!

Don't fancy spending hours in lines that I don't need to

Its a pain, visa has to be paid cash no signs, very disorganized. I'm lucky wife is a local, I just follow her, dont even try and understand what goes on with Indonesia immigration.

That's what I fear - I know the cash bit, goes in the pocket rather than the government. Happened when I needed a work visa there a few years ago.

But when you went, did you have to line up for a separate visa on arrival station BEFORE the passport control???

Just want to minimise the waiting in lines!!!

thanks again

I seem to remember the desks on the side before you reach passport - looks like I am spending the afternoon in lines then!!!

Just spent 3 weeks in Indonesia over Christmas/New Year.

I entered through Jakarta Soekarno-Hotta airport.

You do have to pay for a visa. (500k IDR). There is an ATM before you get to the visa counter. They also accept a few foreign currencies including euros, dollars and pounds sterling.

Entering the country was fine for me. On arrival there was a counter that checked my covid vaccine status. (I showed my pass in Apple Wallet). They then stamped my boarding pass. Then I went the the ATM and took some money out on my HSBC Uk debit card.
At the visa counter I was asked a few questions about how long I was staying etc and asked to show my return flight itinerary.

I needed to show the PeduliLindungi app installed to check in to my flight. I couldn’t get my vaccine to validate on there either.

In the 3 weeks I was there I only saw a couple places where people were scanning before entering buildings. Some metro stations and malls in Jakarta, and Yogyakarta airport.
I just waved my phone at the QR code and walked in. Nobody is actually checking you really scanned in.

Thanks - just as I thought

I already have cash from a previous trip so no ATM for me so that should be simple. I again already have both the NHS vaccine both in the apple wallet and hard copy (just in case)

So a line for Vaccines, a line for visa and a line for passport - okay

Not worried once I get out and about in Jakarta

And I am glad I am not the only one to find that the app is rubbish - but I have it to show!!!

Not been back for 4 years so I am looking forward to it, although its work and I am only there for a week and a half, it will be nice for a bintang or two!!
