I had my flight from Gothenburg to Stansted cancelled with a couple of hours notice by Ryanair due to Stansted being closed because of heavy icy conditions on the runway. It was impossible to get through to them for advise and I had to get back so booked a BA flight to Heathrow and caught a bus to Stansted to pick up the car. As the flight was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions they say they are not liable to to compensation. I’m not surprised but just wanted know whether this is reasonable or whether I should contest it.

So you think you might be entitled to compensation because the weather was bad?

Explain how this is the fault of the airline and how they control the weather?

I believe that you are *not* entitled to compensation but you are entitled to rerouting as long as you didn't accept a refund.
