In an ordinary world you'd find me+the Mrs somewhere warm for a long weekend for our anniversary in a few weeks. Needs booking right about now really. Spain we're thinking.

However I'm getting a whiff of sniffles related silly buggers going on, reading of cancelled flights and some EU states implementing entry restrictions on the UK?

I guess in a world that doesn't run on predictable logic we can go disposably cheap flights, cancellable hotel rooms and some c'est la vie.

Or would you just not bother and book in the UK for now?

I’m not aware of any travel restrictions - thoughts of or otherwise. But, in answer to your question - yes every single time. We’ve got away got away for Christmas & the new year for the first time since 2018 and it’s been brilliant.

We’ve had 4 other trips abroad this year and the only thing I would complain about is flight delays (usually UK inflicted) and Eurostar cancelling a train I was supposed to be on which cost me a fair amount of money to get home.

Bugger the miserable UK - get abroad.

The Netherlands has been put into lockdown until at least mid-January, while Germany has joined France in prohibiting UK tourists.

The only downer to travel is the risk of snow and not being able to get to the airport.

Weather is always better abroad, even when it's less than ideal but I maximise that by going to the Canaries as Spain can be very wet when it wa TS to be.

New Years Eve 2022 in Spain. Haven’t seen a proper cloud for the last 9 days and it’s been 20/21c with 4/5mph winds each day.

None of the UK tacky/consumerism Christmas nonsense is an additional bonus.

Ain't that the truth.

Costa in Jan 2020 tipped it down.
Broadstairs with this years "restrictions" was glorious sunshine!
