I might be spending a few weeks in France quite soon and would like to get a tag so I can use the express lanes.

I have done quick google but seeing lots of different websites and options etc.

Can anyone suggest a good source that can ideally post to the UK? Or do I have to buy it in France?

Cheers

I have an emovis tag as well.

I think Eurotunnel/Shuttle have a discount for them.

Cheers had a look seems like about 50 euros for a tag and their admin fees, of which 20 euro is refundable if you send the tag back.

Is that about right for the costs, seems pretty expensive?

Emovis-Tag. A UK based company.

I used them for a tour of France, they send the tag to you, give your bank details and
you get charged as and when you use the tag.

As you know French toll roads are expensive, I was near £200 for a 8 day road trip.
Also, unlike the Express Tolls in the US, you have to stop at the toll barrier, it senses
the tag, and lifts the barrier.

It can be a bit annoying, as sometimes it doesn't sense the tag, leading to the prospect of
unchuffed French drivers behind you.

You don’t have to stop at the barrier, just drive slowly up to it.
Alternatively you can play left foot chicken in the Telepeage 30kph booths.

We’ve had Emovis tag for years - they are brilliant. They even tell you when the battery is about to run out and they replace the tag.
They’re based in the UK (Harrogate) and generally are very quick to respond. We don’t bother sending the tag back as we are in France every year so the small admin fee isn’t worth getting back.

Yeah the 30kph drive through lanes are great, save so much time. Quite funny to see French people see a British car go to the lane and go to another lane assuming you’ve got in the wrong one and will block the lane.

Had my Sanef, now Emovis, tag since they became first available...2000? Excellent, never failed. Well worth paying for to see the French smirk disappear promptly at a peage!

Yes, 40 something Euros... there seem to be a few more recurring charges since I bought one years ago.

If you are on the peage in peak season, then they're definitely worth it. I drive most years from coast to coast in a small 2 seater - so having one feels vital.

Thanks all, will see what happens but if I am over there then I think I will get one and try it out via the UK site mentioned.

+6 for Emovis Tag (if I counted correctly), works perfectly. Just needs to attach in the darkened area of the window behind the rear view. Some minor road exits did need removal from there and waving to get it caught up though, but that was only a couple of times.
