Heading to Antigua for Xmas - food places and recommended?
Discussion
Where are you staying?
I rented a place there from Nov - Feb last year/this year. To be honest a lot of places then were still recovering from CV We were in Jolly Harbour Places we got to use a bit there were:
Miracles of the Caribbean - brilliant food, everything else just scatty, had a superb Christmas Day Lunch here
The Fox House - a bit pricey but great service & food
Crow’s Nest - good food all day, breakfast, lunc & dinner.
Al Porto - good pizza & pasta - service excellent to rude!
West Point Bar - could be a bit cliquey, but great location on the harbour & they were fine once they’d seen you more than once.
Sandras on the beach did good basic food, with normal Caribbean service!
Do the Xtreme Circumnavigation with Adventure Antigua. It’s an all day trip but you go round the whole island in a power boat with 3 x250hp engines slung out the back.
Nelsons dockyard is interesting, couple of good restaurants in there too. There’s a small standa alone bar whose name I can;t now remember thats does lethal cocktails. They also have a Christmas Day party in the dockyard here with BBQs, bands, etc.
Be wary in St Johns some of the restaurants & bars on Heritage quay operate a 2 tier pricing. If they think you are tourist off the cruise ships it’s a stupid price, if they think you are local you get charged a different more reasonable price.
