Planning on a week away somewhere with the mrs end of March. Can't decide between these 3. Never been to any of them, we favour AI (but open to other suggestions if food outside the hotel is good) and like a mix of lazing by the pool and walking/seeing what's around.

Dubai.

Pros - Guaranteed sun, lots to see and do.
Cons- AI very expensive and seems to be very few hotels that do it.

Sharm.

Pros - Should be plenty warm enough for sunbathing, AI cheap & plenty of them.
Cons- I've been told that unless you stay in the resort there's not much around Sharm other than diving and being hassled by every man and his dog trying to scam you.

Canaries.

Pros - Plenty of good AI around.
Cons - Weather is hit and miss.

Can anyone offer some advice?

Maybe I'm just lucky but I've been to the Canaries pretty frequently and in both February, March and April have always had good sunny weather.

January and February are the more risky months but only one year did I suffer an ice cold wind for some of the week which the locals agreed was an exceptional occurrence. Can't be guaranteed though, obviously, I had a spanking week last week but this week they had a bit of rain and wind.

Still better than the UK.

And every time I've tried the Canaries, at Easter and end of October, it's rainy and cold hehe

We've had 5 weeks in Fuerteventura from mid to late December over 2 holidays and only had 2 cloudy/rainy days across the lot in the 2 times we've been.

It depends what you like doing.

I like karaoke and Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura provides a resort with easy parking, lots of restaurants and a decent beach plus it's 5 minutes from the airport and the hire cars are cheap (Autoreisen). Failing that, it has a lot of roaming singers if you want to be entertained (luckily only one drag artist).
It has tons of sports bars if you like that sort of thing and plenty of great places and beaches to visit if you hire a car.
About to visit for the 20th time in 6 years and the volume of people I see, who repeatedly holiday there is the highest I've seen, underlining my point. My new girlfriend loves it, even though I have offered her other destinations.

Not keen on Lanzarote as it's more populated and a bit dull for my liking - parking issues too.

I like Gran Canaria for driving inland for the fabulous views and the zoo is nice (expensive though) but parking in Maspalomas was a bit hit and miss though I'm told there is a trick to the parking where you take the ticket and can "cancel" it for a lesser feee at the machines. Not much to do there, though but a nice beach.

I went off Tenerife after having stuff stolen from my car, not once but twice, I suspect using devices that capture the key signal as the cars were still locked on my return but Teide national park is cool as even if it's cloudy, you can drive up through the clouds to find the sun (not always and in 2016, I went the park was shut due to 10' of snow though the coast was still warm/hot).

Did Jebel Ali AI last October. Was a bit nervous it wouldn't be as good as usual Dubai standards, but it was fine. However it's a bit further out of Dubai than all other resorts.

We have had good weather in Fuerteventura in March and also Tenerife.

Cheaper and less of a flight than the other two places.

We go to FV in March and October.

March can be a little unsettled with the chance of dull windy days but you'd be unlucky to get that for days on end. Evening temperatures that time of year are likely to be more jeans and jumper then shorts and T shirt and the sea will be bloody freezing.

The far south of Gran Canaria, ditto Lanzarote and north Furteventura have micro climates that are often a little more agreeable whenever the weather is a bit marginal elsewhere.

Be very careful if you're considering AI though - they're absolute catnip to Team beer and chips in the sunshine and from what I've heard at over the years standards of food, drinks and service toward the more budget end of the market are errr... distinctly sub optimal.

I've done Dubai a few times, as you say you're guaranteed sun, with regards to all inclusive it's a none event really. It's usually so hot you don't need 3 meals. The breakfasts are usually buffet so you can eat plenty there to get you through to the evening, and worst case have a small snack if required.

Depending on budget and where you would say you may find there could be 2-3 resorts/hotels linked and you would have access to all of the facilities and restaurants.

Likewise, as you mention there's lots to do so if you venture out to say a mall you can grab a Starbucks, Maccy D's, KFC, whatever takes your fancy basically. Also you may do a day trip like dune bashing, quadbiking etc which will probably include a meal/drinks.
