Four falls walk in miserable weather?
Discussion
Have a week off which has naturally coincided with bad weather which will make the mountains unfun, and I was thinking about Ystradfelte instead.
I've done the walk before and seem to recall there being a reasonable amount of shelter from the woods. I've got the right equipment + skills etc to be safe, it's just a question of whether it will be fun or just a muddy slog of trying not to slip over every 2 paces.
With the shorter days and the travel time there's not an awful lot of slack in the timetable which is another factor in my thoughts (travelling from Bristol)
I like getting out in the weather, especially with the recent rain the waterfalls should be looking great, I'm just cautious because the mountain weather forecast is a bit grim.
Any opinions / experience? Great place to enjoy some weather without having your skin flayed off by sideways rain, or best avoided?

Have done it in pouring rain - it's fine and lots of waterfalls to see.
Sounds like you know what you are doing on a wet mountan so just follow the usual approach and be a bit careful on some of the stones.
Really enjoyable - must go back and do it in the sunshine one day, although the day we went there wasn't enough parking so would hate to see how busy it gets on a good day.

When I visited a local farmer opened up one of their fileds and was charging £5 per vehicle to park all day, the field could easily hold 100+ vehicles as it was huge! ( there was a LOT of vehicles parked in the field)Sounds like you know what you are doing on a wet mountan so just follow the usual approach and be a bit careful on some of the stones.
