Hey all,

Weird one here, but the family (10 year girl, baby boy, wife and I) want to go on a 4/5 night city break over the Christmas holidays. Probably 26th - 30th December, so will miss the pre Christmas hullaballoo, but i have probably left it too late to book for then.

Criteria:

5 star hotel, but not too pricey.
Hopefully city centre, or close to it.
Nice to potter around and have a coffee, sightseeing is nice, but will have family in tow.

Vienna (Ritz Carlton) or Florence (Rocco Forte Savoy) seem decent value, I don't want to spend more than 3.5k on the booking if I can help it.

Also happy to consider elsewhere. Was thinking Switzerland but thought it would be insanely expensive. Have done Paris before with family, and most of Europe without...

Would also consider somewhere more rural. Looked at Garda and the great lakes but wasn't sure it was a good time to visit...

Lisbon - Hotel Corpo Santo - upgrade to a Suite

Lisbon is a lovely city - really nice to just stroll around.

Hire a car for a day and take a drive up to Nazare - if you're lucky you'll see 100ft high waves - and people surfing them.

Krakow? I was there last week and it's a cool city with lots of interesting architecture. I imagine that it may be a bit nippy in December, but I stopped in the 5* Sheraton Grand (next to the castle) and I was genuinely shocked at how cheap the hotel and eating/drinking/having fun, was.

I love Lisbon. Just worried it won't be very Christmassy. Not sure why...
