Short break idea from 23 Dec to 26 Dec? UK or Europe.
Discussion
I know there's a thread going about a short break between Xmas and New Year, but what about going away for Xmas eve and Xmas day itself?
Anyone done it and where has great atmosphere, great food and a lot of 'buzz'? Need to get away from a tedious 'family Christmas'.
Thanks in advance!

Previously I would have suggested Riga, I was there leading up to Christmas last year and the snow really dumped down and the temperature stayed well below 0c. I flew back to UK on 24th December with no problems.
Unfortunately, with Putin sniffing around the Baltics, things are different for the time being which is shame.
Budapest?
Bruges?

I can’t imagine anywhere at Christmas will have a great atmosphere and a lot of buzz with a place full of strangers. Have Christmas Dinner out so no one has to cook, don’t invite family over if that’s the issue, make an effort to make it fun if staying at home, e.g. board games? Theres lots of things you can do but most of all, spend it with those you love and want to be with.Anyone done it and where has great atmosphere, great food and a lot of 'buzz'?
