Appreciate its how long a piece of string, but on first flight for business since ore pandemic soon and have an international Monday morning flight hand luggage only, so any frequent flyers of late have any experience.

I used to rock up relaxed an hour at most before, but now i feel like I'm flying for the very first time again and thinking if i should get there 2 hours early...

We’re flying out from Stansted tomorrow as it happens. On the basis of no research whatsoever we’re giving it just over 2 hours to check-in a single case and get through security. This is with Jet2 if it makes any difference.

04:30-06:30 is the busiest time. You can pay for fast track security which will save time going through, and can also fast track passport lines coming back.

July was my first flight post Covid, and the first time at Stanstead. Arrived early for the 13.00 flight, breezed through fast track security, no hold ups anywhere. The longest queue was at Costa.
On our return we were met with a huge zig zagging walking queue for passport e-gates, must have taken 30 - 45 minutes.
Mind you this was three months ago, I expect its improved since then?

Was there on Weds for a 9am flight.

Queues looked busy but were moving. We used fast track and it took about 20 minutes to get through. Family who went through normal channels took about 45 minutes and that was with a pair of scanners not being used.

It’s Stansted though. Whatever amount of time you think you’ll need always add an extra half an hour to be sure.

Nope, we came back from Milan the other day and spent over an hour getting through passport control. Same zig zag line.

Outbound was fine though, through security etc within mins.

I have always got fast track both ways at Stansted. It is cheap and makes the whole thing less stressful. Ear.y mornings can be very busy.

Just after security there is a fast track cut through which avoids the main duty free. Using that normally saves both time and quids!
