We were due to go to Naples, Florida in November but for various reasons (one of which is my sister-in-law is seriously ill with limited life expectancy) we are seriously considering cancelling the whole trip (we've been to Naples many times).
In addition the pound/dollar exchange rate is pants at the moment meaning it would be at least 35-40% more expensive to the last time we travelled there - on top of that eating & drinking out in the US is becoming very expensive and the "expectation" that waiting staff get 15-25% tip it's a no-goer from my point of view (we've never given more than 10% - service used to be good but no longer - it's not our fault they get paid crap wages)
We can get all of our money back on the accommodation (Airbnb) and car hire (free cancellation) but the BA flights are a different matter.
Looking at their website, you can cancel but it seems very difficult to do - they talk about an e-voucher and also a future travel voucher but these have to be completed before 30th Sep 2022 with any travel voucher used before 30th Sep 2023.
I realise we'll lose everything except the taxes so we should get back around £600 of the £826 we paid (inc £80 Avios discount) and lose £140 seat reservations so all in all not too bad. All we want is our taxes back.
Anyone here know the voucher system and the significance of the 30th Sep 2022 deadline - what happens after that date or is it a moving deadline?

I think you can only get a voucher if your travel was due to be completed by september 2022.

With regards to the tax, you should get most of it back, but they usually charge about £30 each admin fee. What are the change fees on the tickets, maybe you can just change the date on the tickets for 10 months from now?

Yes that was how I read it regarding vouchers. However I’m sure we can get the tax back which is nearly £600 - it’s just not clear on the website at all (basically takes you round and round in a loop).
We actually tried to change our flights to Cape Town for next February some time ago but the cost to change was ridiculous (so we ended booking the Cape Town flights as a separate booking)

I’ve got some BA vouchers - seems to be almost impossible to spend them . They don’t seem to apply to all flights.
