Over to Pistonheads for a birthday idea in Uk or Europe in February.

Happy to hear the ideas for me and Mrs Charlie. If it’s in the Uk the dog will be coming too

My wife booked us into an airBnB semi underground turf covered hobbit house type thing for a long birthday weekend a few years back.

Was howling wind and horizontal rain the whole time. There was a pile of board games, a log stove with more logs than you could shake a stick at, billioms of fleece and wool blankets, sheepskins etc.

Simple things like boiling the kettle on top of the stove for fresh coffee and putting pain au chocolate on the hot box side, or a baked spud wrapped in foil. Was quite nice just tending to the fire, looking out through the peephole windows at the open farmland scenery admiring from inside.

We left our phones in the car glovebox.

Was absolute bliss. Modern, complicated life is over rated.
