Hi

Was in the Balearics this summer for 3 weeks. Noticed quite a few UK Cars.
Also suffered ball ache both on pickup and drop off for the hire car.
(Why cant they be like Autoreisen / Cicar in the Canaries).
I also had a good read of the "French / Spanish Toll Road Tag" thread and so I'm thinking of driving down to Majorca next summer.
Had a quick google but cant seem to find ballpark pricing for the Barcelona / Palma car ferry.
This will be in the height of summer say for 3 weeks.
I know there wont be much in it but its also about the journey!
Two middle teenagers in the back but that will be ok as long as they have juice for their electronic devices.
cheers

Lots of websites out there for booking ferries - e.g. aferry.com

Next years prices won't be published yet though, but a return crossing now is £250. The outbound is overnight, so you'll need to add one or more cabins on to that cost. I also think that more passengers will push the price up too.

Averidge price is £293.
About a ten hour crossing.
I remember one ferry that we all had to reverse onto! But that was about 15 years ago.

We laid up outside of Barcelona before the boarding time in Badalona, just along the coast a bit. Not so busy there and easy to park.

I've also gone over to Menorca as a foot passenger. Easy enough to do. We flew in from the uk and spent a weekend in Barcelona then out on the night ferry for a month.

As others have said, ball park will be between £250-£300. Crossing is about 8 hours, we used to do daytime crossing going and nightime crossing back. You can comfortably get to Barcelona for a lunchtime crossing with one overnight stay. We used to do an early morning tunnel then full day drive down to south east France, then stay overnight and head down to Barcelona in the morning.

To reduce the drive you can ferry from south coast uk ports to bilboa or santander then drive across spain to barcelona, an easy drive in a day.
