So my wife has a condition that my banks insurance won’t cover. But they will cover everything else.

Am I allowed to get a policy for her only to cover her for that condition if it causes any problems on holiday and utilise my bank account one for any other problems or do we all need to be on the same policy?

Thanks

I doubt you are going to get cover specifically for the medical condition. Rather you are going to get full cover INCLUDING the medical condition and on that basis I would expect any claim to be made to the insurer covering the medical condition.

We used to have this fun and games and used Fish Insurance for my son. Not 100% sure they do travel now though.

In the meantime we have found Nationwide Flex Plus are very accommodating with its travel insurance. HSBC Premier not so much

Its flex plus thats the issue. No problems pre covid with the pre existing condition. Never renewed during covid as didn’t need to as haven’t gone anywhere.

Maby never explained best as I could. Am I ok getting a seperate policy for my wife only or does it need to be a family policy to cover everyone.

well your bank account one will cover you, and get a separate one for your wife just for her. You may be able to call the bank account insurance provider and add her condition for a nominal fee.

No problem getting a second one for your wife only (have you spoken to the banks insurer, because as stated above they may cover it at extra cost).
Staysure and All Clear are decent alternatives.

Yes spoke with them today hence my question here thay I forgot to ask them.

Thats good I can get an only her policy as the family ones aren’t cheap and don’t want to pay for something I don’t need to.

Went through a very long and slightly painful phone call with a lady from Aviva acting for First Directory Travel Insurance for a number of notifiable but relatively minor conditions my other half has.

It was all noted, we got a letter with the conditions listed and all was included in the standard policy.

How on earth did you manage that - I tried about 6 times to talk to a human being about a fairly complicated claim and never succeeded - they have an "SLA" of 25 working days to respond to claims / queries
