i.e Avios.

Just logged in to check my account as I was looking at booking a flight next February and my account was at zero!!

I booked a flight to SA a couple of weeks ago and used my account number. Was at around 80k then.

Now at zero and looking online it seems as though it’s a 36 month thing (haven’t flown with BA since 2019 - covid) and you lose them all after that time period. Never had a mail to warn me.

No phone numbers to call that I can find - does anyone have any??

Cheers

There are different numbers depending on which card you have but I think 0344 493 0746. I hope it works out for you.

With most loyalty schemes you don't have to fly just have activity, As an aside, I use tripit that amongst other things keeps track of miles loyalty points etc. etc. It also let's you know when they will expire, often you can just shuffle them around or, if you have to, buy the smallest denomination to reset the clock.

These are the numbers I found in the BA app.

Tel: 0800 597 7580 (from the UK)
+44 (0) 207 949 3086 (outside the UK)
Fax: +44 (0)1787 881405
Daily 06:00-21:45 hours

Fingers crossed they can help. My guess is that they won’t.
(A few years ago I missed getting silver by 1 day. As in my year reset the day before a flight I had booked - I phoned and asked nicely - they told me to jog on)

Thanks.

Just looking again it seems I could have transferred some to my wife and that would have reset the 36 month clock.

Hey ho, I’m pretty sure I’ve lost them all but I’ll call and give it a go.

The easiest thing with BA Points is to get your Tesco points to auto transfer then there's always a trickle of new points in your account.

I used to work for BA answering the Exec club calls, many years ago. I used to deal with the Gold, Gold Guest List and Premier customers.

If you call them they may offer some discretion and reinstate the points but you will have to make a qualifying transaction. This may mean buying points. Ultimately it's the TL's discretion.

Happy to answer any other questions.

I used to do that but Tesco stopped BA and moved to Virgin. Nectar however now do BA and there is, as above, the Amex and Barclaycard Avios cards.

The BA Exec Club is linked to Nectar now isn't it?

Curses.... I shall have to start reading my Tesco letters to see what's happening. Apologies for talking rubbish (as usual).

If you are a Barclays Premier customer you can also link your bank account so you get avios for every single transaction including DDs etc…

Thanks all.

Have spoken to them this morning and they’re putting in a request to reinstate - although he did say it probably wouldn’t be all of them.

Lesson learnt!

Do they just get cancelled then if there’s no balance change?

Your Avios stay with you as long as you collect, spend, purchase or share at least one Avios every 36 months — any longer and your Avios will expire and be removed, so remember to take action before those three years are up.
There was an article last year about someone's experience and how they got them reinstated. Seems like if you ask within three months, you've got a good chance! https://onemileatatime.com/insights/british-airway...

Is that the one where you pay £12 per month, or something different?

I pay £12/month for 1,500 avios per month which if converted to nectar points equals £12 worth but then also get an annual cabin upgrade voucher. I can see the option to get 700 avios month for having a barclays mortage and 150/month for their home insurance.

Always useful to keep on top of these....I have quite a lot of AA miles but never fly with them for business anymore....but I will use the miles at some point in the future for leisure.....so I have to keep buying stuff every year to keep them ticking over or I'll lose them.
