Just looking for some ideas guys, I’m thinking about a little holiday away with the better half and our 6 year old daughter in the end of October half term.

We haven’t been away for ages due to covid and we haven’t had our jabs (don’t judge lol).

Can anyone recommend somewhere for a week, I would still like some sun if possible, close to a beach for the nipper. I was thinking lanzerote, but it’s getting a bit pricey in the half term. Trying to keep it around 2k if possible

Any advice?

Always wanted to get away during the October Half Term. The kids have 2 weeks off so it would be ideal time to go to the Canaries. Unfortunately Easyjet and the likes realise this and price flights out of my budget. Flights alone could be as much as £2k for us.

Greek Islands are still nice this time of year. Probably be around 22-24c and the seas are warm. We went to Kos pre covid and had a great week and now off to Crete this October half term. Turkey will be good too. The weather in Kos when we went was better than a week on the Norfolk Coast in Aug where it rained the whole time.

Corfu is coming up a bit on searches, I did go there as a kid but I can’t remember much about it! Anyone been anywhere nice with their family?

Oct half term is late this year (at least round here) and is the very last week of Oct. (i.e. coming back 1st Nov)

Temps in the Med are risky because of this. i.e. If you look at the monthly averages for Corfu for November, it is 19 day, 10 night and 10 days of rain.

You might be lucky, but there is always the risk of a cold week. As long as this is OK, then go for it.

This. We had a week in Crete during October half term a few years ago, chosen because it looked a better bet historically than southern Spain. Unfortunately we lost the bet. Southern Spain was perfect while we had a very average time with a couple of horrendous days of rain. Still a good holiday, but not as good as we'd hoped.

But probably still better weather than a British summer in Aug

Fuerteventura - Caleta de Fuste - book a one bed apartment for around £300 through VRBO/Holiday lettings/Airbnb, a hire car for around £100 through Autoreisen of Payless, use skyscanner to monitor for cheap flights through Easy Jet or Jet 2. Supermarket cereal for breakfast, eat out.

Temperatures mid 20s or more, beer cheap. Beach within 5 minutes waling distance. Parking free and easy.

Touch and go TBH, but we were unlucky. It was a novelty BBQing under a balcony to get out of the rain while gusts of wind blew the contents of the infinity pool over my back. hehe

Crete probably has a better chance of decent weather than Spain or Corfu. Their season tends to last to the end of October/beg of November and most restaurants etc are still open. Been in October a couple of times (and again this year) although not the end and have never seen a spot of rain. Sea is bath like.

I would go for Fuerteventura- been there in October and pretty good weather wise. We go to Corralejo in the north.

Southern Spain can also be Ok at that time of year but not as guaranteed

Only thing is that you will need LFT tests 24 hours before you go but easily arranged with Chronmatics

Hire car 100 quid for a week....you talking mobility scooter?

Caleta has enough for a week...beach is a bit plastic but you can drive to Corralejo and El Cotillo and south for better options.

Exactly same boat as you

Portugal for us, no covid theatrics to worry about(family of 3 dirty un-vaxxed)

Just over £600 for a 2 bed apartment for a week including transfers, can't wait, going on 14th Oct

Hope you enjoy your break, wherever you get to
