Brindisi, Puglia,4 days
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking for suggestions.
Just a hastily planned 4 days Brindisi, Puglia,Friday evening.
We have a hire car.
Where to go Saturday morning lets say out at 10 am, for 6, then where to go for the afternoon and evening.
Same for Sunday
Same for Monday
Dropping the car back off at the airport Monday evening 20:00h
We went to Ostuni by train last time there, may give it a miss this time.
Is Taranto worth the 55 minute drive ?

Wife and I stayed at a fab hotel at Torre Canne in 2018 for a week, which is a bit up the coast from Brindisi (we flew into Bari). Hired a car for the week and explored a reasonable amount, including Ostuni that you mentioned.
Spent a day at Lecce (often referred to as the Florence of the North, but I'm not convinced!), really lovely town to walk around, good cafes etc, interesting architecture.
I recall that one day we ended up by chance at a small seaside town called Torre Santa Sabina and stopped for lunch at a place I think was called Ristorante da Turicchio, by the sea. Was good. There were other restaurants nearby. This small town looked very laid back, a nice place for a swim perhaps, and it seemed it was a place for Italians to holiday. Could be worth a visit for a few hours or so? I do remember it was HOT in mid October!
And there's Matera nearby, of course, which is a world heritage town, and has become very popular in recent years. Need a day there to do it justice.
We've not visited Taranto.
