Car hire - Sardinia
Discussion
Any recommendations for car hire in Sardinia?
The 'known' companies seem to want about £450 for a week for a Fiat Panda type car.
Other firms are around £250 including additional driver and excess damage insurance - which I wasn't planning to take but it's not hard to find very negative reviews (including the known firms) for totally fabricated damage charges.
I don't really trust car hire companies, and would be perfectly happy to pay for taxis everywhere, but I get the impression that isn't that easy either.

I'm of the same view, I hate hiring cars on holiday. We went to Tuscany before lockdown however and I just took a load of photos of the car (a 500) before we took it away. As it happened there were no issues on our return but that was with Eurocar. The 'known' companies seem to want about £450 for a week for a Fiat Panda type car.

Have you consider hiring electrics bikes? - I was in Ischia at the start of June and the universal mode of transport seemed to be electric fat bikes (the ones you don't even have to pedal), and they go like stink!
