A bit open ended I know, but interested in ideas.

Would be going late October/November. Me,Mrs, 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son. Active family but balance of chill time, good food, drink etc.
Like marine life, animals etc…

Budget £10k or so.

Thoughts…
Australia (spent 12 months there, love it but too far)
SE Asia (spent 6 months there, probably not on the cards for this trip)
Europe (prob want to go further)
SA (been before, prob not for this trip)

Any locations, hotels for special holiday?

Mexico, Dubai, Maldives, Mauritius, Costa Rica, just throwing out some destinations !!!

Cheers!

We’re going to the Dominican Republic for my 50th staying at a hotel with water park and has a sister hotel which we can use. Been before (not to the same hotel) and had a great time. Have upgraded to get some nice extras (restaurants, butler etc). Going to do some diving and other thing like dolphin buffing.

Not exotic but we will all have a good time.

Can’t go wrong with South Africa in my opinion - Cape Town, Franschhoek, Hermanus all fantastic places to visit. Great value, great quality & as long as you’re sensible perfectly safe.
Food quality & wine is superb value - plenty of wine tasting and dirt cheap.

Atlantic hurricane season from June to end November, 2022 is predicted to be above normal activity but pretty quiet so far. Forecasting is reliable these days so not a reason not to visit.

islands in the southern Caribbean who are not in the hurricane belt are well into their wet season by then. Likewise, Central America. Not monsoon wet, but can be episodically very wet indeed and sometimes for a few consecutive days. it doesnt rain all the time in the wet season and its not sunny every day in the dry season but it can be a lottery depending on the particular island - my sister and nephew came down in Oct pre-Covid and had wonderful weather for the whole stay.

ABC's generally good year round

I spent my 50th a few years ago in Monaco for 5 days. Great for the whole family, myself and son loved the cars and museum. The high end shops kept my wife and daughter happy. We then had a 5 day break in New York a few months later as the final part of my 50th celebrations.
Great memories.
I'd like to go to Tokyo for my 60th which is still a few years away.

Oman is worth your time as a destination as are the Bahamas and Costa Rica. Hurricane season will pass by mid Oct as Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico cool.

Ecuador and Galapagos, although I'm not sure whether tours, the best way to see lots in a short time, are yet happening there.
Probably my favourite ever holiday.

We drove across Mexico a month ago - Acapulco to Tulum - fantastic trip, lots to see. Took 2 1/2 weeks.

I can also recommend East Africa, depends how long you have as to where to go and what to do though.

Mexico is (IMO) quite decent for a reasonable price (means you can afford to do more when you're there). If you're in Cancun you've got:

Chichen itza https://www.chichenitza.com/information which is (IMO) an amazing place to visit, there are also other less touristy ruins available
Cenotes are interesting
Xcaret & Xplor Parks a a fun/activity filled and interesting day or 2
There's a swim with dolphins experience which was great

loads more to do but as a (VERY) brief touristy idea it's a good start

Mauritius is lovely from late October onwards and the resorts in my limited experience are fabulous.
