Flying out to Spain Sunday 07:30. Jet2 bloke on phone asked we're there 3 hours before departure !!.
I'll be dropping our luggage off the day before.. surely not...

Was there the other week for a 4pm flight.

Security queue was about 20 mins. Bag drop queue was about 20 mins (which you won't have). Covid check was about 1 minute.

Shops and bars were rammed, no seats anywhere in the entire main retail and waiting area but the All Bar One down towards the departure gates was empty.

Then I had a nearly 3 hour delay boarding (Jet2) because our plane broke down.

We dropped bags off last Friday. You can park in the premium drop off parking for £2 for an hour. It took us 15 minutes to drop the bags.
NOTE - when you put your ticket in to the machine to pay, you have to press for assistance and tell them you were using day before bag drop. They will then change the extortionate charge on the ticket machine to £2.

On the Saturday we turned up two hours before (for a 7.40 TUI flight) and it was plenty of time. Security took less than 30 minutes. As mentioned above the shops/cafe area was very busy but we managed to get a table at Costa.

2 hours seems right to me. 5.40 quite early enough for us and 3 young kids smile
