A few nights there soon. I need several Italian / Grill / fish / bistro type places. It doesn't need to be fine dining, but good quality.

Suggestions appreciated please.

We lived there for 5 years, some of our favorites include:

The Salt Room - fish
The Coal Shed - Grill
64 degrees - mixed
Le Petit Pois - French
Giggling Squid - Thai
Ginger Pig - This is more a gastro pub, based in Hove opposite the King Alfred Centre - worth a trip though

ETA - The Grand Hotel restaurant is also worth a mention, not silly money either. Their Sunday lunch is the best we found in Brighton and we spent years looking hehe

If you stretch Brighton to Hove, I'd also add Fourth and Church on Church St

Like above, if you can stretch to Hove, (a mile or so), we had a good lunch here:

The website is not great and by all accounts the service can be a bit iffy but we had good service and food. The dough balls were AMAZING!

Would second these. There's also a good pizza place called Very Italian Pizza (V.I.P.) run by actual Italians.
