booked holiday last week all is good flight times were fine. went to give details to other family members for them to book the same stuff and the flight times are different for them. confused i tried it and yeah same flight numbers but times and length of flight changed but our times are still the same if i look at our holiday booking, but if i log into the tickets i see they have changed there but we havent had any notification that they have changed and a quick google seems to show its happened for other flights and VA just arnt informing you they have changed

seems a bit crappy to me

Possibly still adjusting timetables across the board so awaiting completion before contacting customers?

Emirates have done the same with the NCL to DXB departures and arrivals from 31 October 2022 onwards - looks like a lot of airlines are reverting to their pre-covid schedules.

Agree its poor form though not letting people know - esp as some of the changes are quite significant.

Have you booked a package or independent holiday?

If it's a package that just happens to use VM flights then it would be up to the TO to tell you about the flight changes, not VM (in fact VM might not know you from Adam at this point).

its a virgin holidays flight using va as the carrier
the flights been ticketed as we used vouchers for upgrades so they should know us and it shows correct class on the VA app but wrong on the VAH. id have expected one or the other to tell me as i now need to talk to alamo about changing collection times

It’s standard for them. It caused me all sorts of issues with connecting (also booked via Virgin) flights. This is the response I got 7 weeks after querying it with them.

‘ I am sorry to learn that your flight has been impacted by a schedule change and you were unable to change your flight. I don't underestimate how inconvenient this must have been for you.
At Virgin Atlantic, we care a great deal about our customers and the experience that they have with us. We want our customers to love flying with us, so to hear you've been left feeling let down is disheartening. For this, I sincerely apologise.
I would like to assure you that we do work tirelessly to adhere to the schedules we release 11 months in advance. However, sometimes for operational reasons, we may have to change or cancel flights. Therefore, we advise the flight times published at the time of booking aren't guaranteed.’

It wasn’t just one change - it was about 5 in total. Still better than BA though. smile

I do know that they’ve started to slowly move back into their offices in Swansea with newer members of staff working in the offices and the more experienced spending most of their time at home. Wait times for calls have improved dramatically now (no longer 2+ hours on the phone) and I managed to get through to them at the start of the week within 30 minutes to book a companion flight.

This has happened to us on flights booked to Cape Town later this year. Return flight changed and now lands after the last connection leaves for Manchester. Only found out after going online to check the booking - wonder when they were thinking of telling me…. Now having trouble changing/amending/cancelling the booking as the agent won’t play ball. The joys….

My last 2 Virgin flights had time changes. We were advised about a month before.

If you dont mind joining another forum then VFlyer is a good place to get info and there are people in the know on there.

Our flights to LAX were changed and we didn't get told - only when checking a few days before did I spot it (a change of several hours...!)
This was also with VA. Flight experience was excellent, though. Just need to work on their comms.
