Nationwide offer free UK and Europe breakdown cover with some accounts.

I have AA UK and European cover included wiith my extended warranty. Some car manufacturers also sell breakdown cover, so worth checking wiith a dealer, depending on what car you have.

I used the travel pack with Barclays for £12 a month which includes travel insurance and breakdown cover with RAC, actually needed to use the cover as we broke down on the Stelvio Pass.

The RAC flew me & the family home from Slovenia, taxi to the airport both ends, and then flew me back a week later, plus taxi to the garage, when we broke down on the day before our return home - needed a new injector in a Peugot 3008 1.6 petrol.

Also, the relay from when I reported the breakdown to transport to the garage took no more than 30 mins. We had made it to the lhe Aldi in Tolmin where we were going for croissants for breakfast when the engine light came on.

If we had broken down a day later, they would have taken us all home on a relay - glad we broke down when we did, as home in 3 hours once we arrived at the airport - Wizz Air to Luton

Not sure if anyone is going to know, but regarding the Nationwide Flex account, it mentions you need to be a uk resident for 6+ months of the year for the cover to be in application. Does that mean its 6 months from 'todays' date or the calendar year?

Yeah - it means you're not allowed to leave the UK at all for 6 months from the date you sign up for the service, otherwise everything is null and void.

Head over to https://www.comparebreakdowncover.co.uk/ and plug your details in.

I got Personal cover for Mrs. Rooster & I (covering all of Europe) which covers anything I/she may be in/on for the princely sum of £72 for the year, subject to a £30 excess per callout.

Thanks, unfortunately im looking at up to 90 days cover. AA/RAC all came to around 250/300. Norton Heritage was £49 for the year and i couldnt quite figure out if there was a time limit or not. The guy on the phone just kept telling me it was annual breakdown cover each time i said itd be 80 days.

Some others wouldnt cover as its older than 16 years old

Anyway, have an address is Germany so went with the ADAC in the end for 143 euros, European and UK Coverage
