Cyprus and Covid?

Back to normal; my dad and sister went on holiday there a month ago. Caught Covid on the flight out there mind, but that’s the risk you take.
You can't pinpoint the flight, but rather the entire journey, door to door, where you'll have spent a great deal of time in close proximity to many people. parabolica said:

Really!!!
How do they know they caught Covid on the flight rather than elsewhere?
Probability. How do they know they caught Covid on the flight rather than elsewhere?

Off to Paphos Cyprus next month, staying in The Annebell. checking gov.com tells me all restrictions have finished. ( we both have proof of all three jabs )
Whats it like now? is it all back to normality, any tips.
Masks required indoors, also in your car, if you're with people you don't live with, utter madness!Whats it like now? is it all back to normality, any tips.
Just make sure you do all your dining/socialising outdoors.

To save you from the chat turning into another COVID debate here’s the reality from someone who lives in Paphos (well just up the road).
There are no entry requirements at all, other than a valid passport. Make sure you all have at least three months left of the ten years since issue date. Not the expiry date, as the extra months you can accrue from an early renewal don’t count.
The mask thing is a complete over reaction by many on here. You’ll only need to wear one if you go inside a decent sized shop or pharmacy, even then it’s 50/50 compliance. The hotel is unlikely to enforce them. You absolutely will NOT have to wear one when entering a bar or restaurant. You don’t have to wear one once seated. You’ll be sitting outside anyway where there’s no rule about wearing one.
The rule was only brought in as there was a spike and whilst GESY (our NHS) is very good it has limited beds (around 120 across the whole island) for the seriously ill and that is any and all I’ll eases not just COVID. With a reasonably elderly population it makes sense to try to stem the high rate of infection and protect the locals over tourists too. Think how many of those opposed to COVID restrictions would feel if the NHS hospitals were full of non-U.K. citizens.
The rate of infection is on the way down, although it was pretty high recently.
You won’t see any restrictions in effect when you’re here, you won’t be bothered by it at all and you’ll simply enjoy the trip as if it happened 3+ years ago when COVID didn’t exist.

Many thanks LF5335 for that very good post, you have set my mind at rest. Lets hope by mid September its even better.
We certainly wont be spending any time in shopping malls or supermarkets. Like most other tourists it will be lazing by ( or in ) the pool. Then eating, drinking and socialising out in the open.
Looking forward to our holiday in your lovely country.

I am in Cyprus at the moment. Masks are supposed to be mandatory but hardly anyone is wearing one. Only time it was needed was leaving the plane and going through the airport.
I put one on in the supermarket- about 50% of people had one but most of the tourists ignored it
No need to wear one around the hotel and resort so really not an issue at all

Have not had a proper holiday for quite a number of years so looking at the Constantinou Bros Asimina Suites. Good location to walk to shops, bars, cafes etc?
