Hi Folks, I'm walking from London to Bath at the end of the month and after 10 days slog would like a reasonably luxurious couple of days to look forward to. Any suggestions within the city, budget say up to £300 per night (hope that's enough?).
Edited to add - clearly I mean Bath, not a bath, epic grammar fail in the title.

Assuming you are walking along the Kennet and Avon Canal, you will pass within 50 yds of the Bath Spa mentioned above. It’s convenient for the city centre as well.
Do check that it's properly open.We booked a room late last year, and the week before we were due to go we got an email telling us:
1. The bar wasn't open
2. The restaurant wasn't open
3. You needed to pick a 45 minute timeslot for breakfast before you went to bed the evening before
4. You had to pre-book the Spa and only got 1 hour per day
Needless to say we cancelled.
Gainsborough isn't that great actually. It's the hotel I referred to in my post above - the full name is "Gainsborough Bath Spa" - so when people were referring to the "Bath Spa" hotel, I just assumed it was that one.
Standard rooms are very very ordinary and really quite small. The real attraction is the Spa, and the fact that you can (if you book early enough) get a room where the bathroom is fed with Spa water.
The other thing I neglected to mention, is that after we received the email about the hotel effectively becoming a B&B, I tried to get through on the phone. I tried 4 or 5 times a day for 3 or 4 days and I just couldn't get through on the phone.
We won't be re-booking.

I’ve always had a lovely time there - but have to admit the restaurant closing for lunch and dinner is very strange as it was often one of the appeals of staying. I was heavily involved with the building of the Gainsborough hotel a few years ago, some of the bedrooms are dark and gloomy, others are ok.Standard rooms are very very ordinary and really quite small. I knew the place inside out, top to bottom and I’ve never been back. Most of the management were idiots!
