Off to the Games on Sunday and looked at the parking and it appears to be circa £40 for the day, any decent alternatives nearby?

The parking at the train station next to the NEC is generally cheaper than the NEC itself, it was £9 for all day last time I went. You can access the NEC through the station.

You can also park at Birmingham international station and walk there. It is chargeable but much cheaper than the NEC

Seems like £40 is a good deal for all day parking .

Yes free parking at Hampton and the train to International will be free as well with a Games ticket.

Really?

Assuming an 8 hour parking session, that's £5/hr, which is quite reasonable for parking that close imo, for a day out.

My concerns regarding the train station are will the capacity be filled and any hangover from the previous day's strike!

What for parking in the ass-end of nowhere in the Midlands?

Seems like opportunism to me!
