Any recommendations advice. We are planning a 3 to 4 week tour of Ireland next May / June.We have done a fare bit of the North so will concentrate on the South. We will be using camper vans (2 vans 4 adults). We would also like to hire a narrow boat for a taste of the canals. Is there a set route to follow for the road trip as in Scotland.
Thanks

No set route as such but there's plently to do and see sticking to the coastal Counties for the most part.

A few days around each of the National Parks is advised and an extended stay in Kerry to explore the different peninsulars.

Included on the below is Carrick On Shannon, an access point for boating but check the Irish Waterways website for more information.
Not included in the below is Carlow/Kilkenny area where the River Barrow is lovely for barge hire.
